Specify Sims For This Door - Setting doesn't stay?

Post by Missy_Hissy » February 4th, 2019, 10:49 am

Hi there.
I'm working on a residential lot with eight sims. I've got six bedrooms and a couple of the rooms are 'twin' bedrooms. I'd like to work it that only the two occupants of a twin room can use their door.
I've been using the 'Specify Sims for this door' setting to disallow the other occupants and only allow these two and it works beautifully after I set it. However, when I return to the game after a save and quit, the option hasn't stuck and suddenly, nobody can open that door. Is this a known issue (I did check the forum but I couldn't find anything) or have I missed something? It's not a major issue, I can just reset each time I return or go without but if there is something else I should be doing, I'd be very grateful :)

That's an EA feature, not ours.. I just made more Sims appear on the list. I'm not sure that would break it. Have you tried to see how it behaves without GoHere installed?

Ahh, I wasn't sure. I really couldn't remember how long it had been there and whether it was a GoHere feature or not. I haven't tried without GoHere installed because I use GoHere with Master Controller for the filter system on other doors. I'd never even used the feature before until the other day so the issue might have already been there. No problem, I'll use the filters, they work perfectly.
Thanks anyway! :D

I used the Nix family in Moonlight Falls without GoHere I locked Annie and Mike out of Mara's room and it did survive a save and reload.
With Gohere I locked Annie and Mike out of Mara's room and that too survived a save and reload. So I added Pappy Wolfe a neighbor and again survived. I kept up until I had added every sim in Town and it survived a save and reload.
Looks like something else is interfering or I missed something.

I think it's me missing something :D
Looks like it's me then. To be fair, I'm doing a fair amount of testing with a career at the moment that's playing me up quite a bit, so it might have been something unexpected there since it appears to be working fine now and that's with GoHere installed.

One of the game's little 'quirks' perhaps.
