Script Error whenever I tell my sim to do something

Post by Xaoflak13 » September 29th, 2019, 2:31 pm

Hi all. I'm new to the forum though I've been using nraas mods for a while now. Usually the ErrorTrap mod throws script errors for other sims which I'm not usually too bothered by; I usually just reset everything when this happens for some time. However, this is my first time that it's happened to my sim, and three times in a row! Maybe someone can take a look at these files and tell me what's happening? (I've uploaded all three just in case even though they look the same to me). Thanks all.

Script Error whenever I tell my sim to do something

Hi there. Your sim Camille has gourmet pet food in her inventory that has been prepared with what ErrorTrap is deeming as a non-plantable ingredient. When the game considers all of the possible things a sim can do when clicked upon, apparently feeding their pet is among them and in this case doing so would not be possible. Might you have an ingredients or cooking overhaul mod from a non-NRaas source, or have altered one to your own liking, that is out of date and acting up? Or might you have at one time had such a mod but since removed it after this gourmet pet food was already prepared and ready for use?

If you have or had no such mod in play, I would have to say that any gourmet pet food in her inventory is likely corrupt and should be flushed out using MasterController Cheats.

It should be noted, although I can't see how this could possibly be causing the error, that your MasterController base mod and the MC Cheats module are reporting as v133, which are each one version behind the current one.

Hey igazor. Thanks for diagnosing the problem. No, I've never had a cooking mod, or any other mods that aren't from nraas apart from NoIntro and NoBuildSparkles. I prepared the pet food using salmon that I bought from the grocery. It's no problem though, I'll flush the food as recommended. Thanks by the way for bringing the outdated mod issue to my attention. I'll be sure to update it. Is this something that's likely to happen again if I make the pet food?

Script Error whenever I tell my sim to do something

I see now that I read the script error incorrectly, sorry about that. It says "plantable non-ingredient," not non-plantable ingredient. And I have no idea what that means. Coffee beans perhaps, herbs, or some strange elixir ingredient? Was anything else used in the recipe for the pet food other than fish? Could just be random strangeness I guess, let's see if our developer spots anything I may have missed in the script logs when he catches up with this thread.

One kind of wild idea I guess that could lead to things suddenly becoming undefined. Might there have been an EP in play at one time with this ongoing game that now no longer is?

There's a corrupt object in the inventory the game is trying to feed the pet. It doesn't say exactly what it is (whatever EA determines to be a "plantable non-ingredient") but whatever the game considers pet food. I would concur with the solution of clearing out anything pet food related from the inventory and see if it stops.

No, the recipe only calls for salmon. I haven't uninstalled any EPs, SPs, or store items since I started this playthrough.

So I cleared the gourmet pet food with MC as suggested and the problem did in fact stop. After two sim-days I decided to try it again using beef pet food (my rationale being that steak, which is used in the beef pet food, might be classified as a plantable after the "Outstandingly Rare" opportunity) and it immediately caused a script error. It appears the error is triggered by the presence of gourmet pet food in my sim's inventory so I'm just going to refrain from making that unless you guys find a solution. Thanks for helping!

And you're certain you have no other mods, including tuning mods? I don't recall anyone else having issues with gourmet pet food but I'm not sure how many people use the feature. Does the error occur without it in the inventory? Does it occur if the pet food is the only thing in the inventory?

Not that a vote was asked for or anything, but many of my sims prepare gourmet pet food on a regular basis with no issues and I have a ton of cooking/recipe based mods in play. But none of these sims ever did the Outstandingly Rare gardening opportunity that allows the planting and harvesting of non-standard ingredients, I usually find that opp too unrealistic to cope with-- isn't that the one that allows steaks, fish, and chicken to grow on plants?-- after having gone through it once or twice on sims who coincidentally never had any pets.

Putting in my two cents worth of info:
Most of my households have pets, and I always feed them gourmet pet food. I also have several cooking/gardening sims who have completed the Outstandingly Rare opportunity. I have multiple cooking/new ingredients/new recipes mods. I have never had any issues with the pet food.
