Can't find Patch 1.69

EA got a bit strange on us at the end of the patch cycle there (at least, we hope it's the end!).

Patch 1.69 is different from all of the others. It is delivered by way of Origin only, not by the Launcher and not by separate downloads. It is only intended for Origin-managed disc/digital installs, not for standalone disc, Macs, or Steam installs. The highest patch levels for those three types of installs remains 1.67.

Patch 1.69 does not change the game files in any way other than their internal build numbers, it's only concerned is with how the game starts up (must be by way of Origin, no bypasses anymore). The only mods that care about internal build numbers are Core Mods. ErrorTrap happens to be a Core Mod, so if you are on Patch 1.67 or on a Patch 1.67/Steam install, the appropriate downloads for the mod are on the same page as the 1.69 one. Some day a new version of ErrorTrap above v100 will be released, and we will provide variants for all three types of installs again.

(click the little round icons to download the correct variant of v100 of ErrorTrap)

You are not missing a thing if you remain or need to remain on 1.67, it's exactly the same game and the same mod either way.

I am assuming ErrorTrap is what you meant here though, we don't have a mod called "No Error." If you are actually on an earlier patch level than 1.67 now, I would recommend EA's SuperPatcher to update.

Is it alright playing the version available at each mod page awith patch 1.67? I didn't find patch 1.69 and I've searched everywhere for the versjons for patch 1.67. After a complete reinstall, my game crashes before hood selection.

There is no difference in the game files between Patch 1.67 and 1.69. The only mod that has or requires a 1.67-specific variant is ErrorTrap because that happens to be a Core Mod and is sensitive to the versions' build numbers.

Any mod (that is not a Core Mod) or CC that is designed or meant for any of Patches 1.66, 1.67, or 1.69 will work (or not work) exactly the same on any of the three patch levels. Patch level is only relevant for mods made for 1.63 and below or those running their game at such an earlier patch level. I'm sorry, I don't know how else to say this. Many of our members here, including me, are at 1.67 and the current versions of all of our mods are fine at that patch level, only ErrorTrap requires the special 1.67 variant to stop the core mismatch warning on startup.

The only thing that 1.69 concerns itself with is the Origin/Launcher tie-in. If you have an Origin for Windows controlled install, then you will have 1.69 automatically with no choices being given. If you do not have an Origin for Windows controlled install, then the highest patch level you can be at is 1.67.

Am also sorry your game is crashing. As you have recently reinstalled, it is possible that your TS3 user game folder in Documents has become damaged. If you pull it out to the Desktop (or rename it), a new game folder with no content will spawn to take its place. Can you get the game started up and a new test game going on such a clean folder? You will have no mods, added content, installed worlds, saved sims or saved games this way, but this is just a test and all of that will still be safe in the pulled out folder.
