Script Error/Overwatch Errors in China

Post by SporkTastic » September 1st, 2014, 7:26 pm

I haven't tried reloading a previous save yet (that's next), but I started getting a bunch of errors midway through the Hot Springs tomb that keep me from traveling home, even with Traveler. It looks like a bunch of things were deleted for some reason (note, I haven't done anything to change my game - no new mods, no new updates - just had a break of a couple of days off from the game), and then caused a bunch of errors by not being in the game.

I'll try to link the uploaded file; I think I did that correctly, but could be wrong. (Sorry if I messed up!)

You've uploaded files came through alright!

I had a quick glance over your uploaded scripterrors reports and this is the following:
1. Correction logs; ErrorTrap reports routinely clean up service on your Saved File once loaded, it doesn't remove any Sims or objects that are in possession of any Sims. For Correction Log, read here what its all about.
2.Proxy: Sims3.Gameplay.Roles.RoleManagerTask; By EA Standard the game had found a Homeless Sim suitable to be a RoleSim, but due to StoryProgression or Overwatch all the homeless was wiped out. Install Nraas Register to circumvent EA's way of assigning Role jobs out of the homeless pool. Install, clear cache, restart game.
3. Overwatch Messages; You have turned on Logging within Overwatch> Settings>, keep in mind that this is for personal usages, but fair warning that it can cause your game to feel a little sluggish. Unless its asked to activate by a Nraas Coder, such reports are not needed.

Good luck!

That's awesome, thanks! I've installed Register, but now it keeps giving me errors about three sims who apparently do not exist (and thus, maybe, the errors?); I tried going into the Master Controller through the base camp to reset them, but it can't find them using any of their names. I haven't tried using the console yet; I'll do that in a minute.

Thanks for your help!

...well, the "resetsim" command worked (I didn't get any fail messages), but Register is still giving me errors about the same sims who apparently don't exist. I'm not sure if it'll keep me from traveling yet, though.

It might be still connected to a role assignment. You could try to find their names in BaseCamp/Computer> Nraas> Register> Global Roles> check in there, if there are roles given to any of those names, try removing it.

If not revert back to a save before traveling and retry to travel. It might be that those Sims are in limbo being deleted. I can not come with any other way how to recover that in your current save at this time (my brain is all mush atm and I am about to get some shut eye).

If you can wait, our in-house coder will be back after 2 days and might be able to know of such way.

They're not under the Global Roles, either, unfortunately. If I had my druthers, I'd not have to revert to a pre-travel save (I'm on day 8 of 11, I've done a lot :-P ) but if that's what it takes, that's what it takes. I *really* appreciate your help. Twallan's mods have *literally* (as in actually, truly) saved my game; if I have to save the sim family and start over, well, s**t happens. No biggie. :-)

So I let the vacation end normally, and it finished and let me travel back to my home town. I was still getting the Register errors, but...it worked. So, thanks again!
