No idea script errors

Post by Veiledstar » June 4th, 2014, 10:18 am

I'm confused when it says it's removing core stuff. As mentioned in chatterbox (although anyone looking at this may not remember) I have recrappified my store items, so I'm not sure if that could be what it's destroying or not. It only does it in a new world I got called St. Claire, but then again I did also decrappify more store items, so I don't know which is the more likely culprit.

By any chance after you download St. Claire and before you installed it, did you ran it over the s3rc.exe file within your decrapify area?

Just a little clarification, Custom World creators who share their maps with the world, may not use the decrapify tools on placed/installed objects. They need to share their world with the original protected Store Content in place (if such creator choose to use it in their custom world). Other wise it will be seen as piracy and such Custom World will not be accepted by the community.

Though having decrapified your own selfbought store content will change the instances of those said objects. The downside is that any legit free Custom World you downloaded, where the creator used some of those objects, will not match your object-instances and will be replaced with other objects.

For this to be synchronised, you would need to run the Downloaded World through the decrapify tools.

hmmm from the description it doesn't list any store content needed, but that would make sense J4ks. I'm confused why I get those script errors every time I load up the game. I wonder if it could be the old fog emitters that were never replaced.

Did you get a message at the start, saying "Some Objects Couldn't Been Found And Had To Be Replaced". Usually these items will be purged and after awhile logged in such scripterror you just uploaded.

From reading the original St. Claire map, you are right the creator haven't used any Store Content, just EA packs. One other possibilty could be are you using the creator SavedGame file?
It is a given that such SavedGame file isn't made in one day, placing families, decorating homes and community lots. This come with a lot of trail and errors that usually consist with placing and removing objects/sims.

What happens is that some hidden away information of those objects are still logged into that SavedGame file and if the creator didn't ran that file through a cleaner, such as ErrorTrap and/or Overwatch, those logs will still be in there.

Now someone who does have Errortrap and/or Overwatch and wants to play that SavedGame on that map. All those T&R reports are showed within a ScriptError Correction Logs, its just information that doesn't have an ingame object to attach itself on and can be regarded as trash.

So in short if it just in Correction Logs, don't worry about them. If it indicates as a pure script error, upload the file and a coder have a look at it.

I am using the save game given by the creator, which makes sense. Looks like there were so many objects being destroyed that I had a CTD. Great. Is there any way to fix this? I have used save cleaner on it once, but didn't use a deep clean on it for memories.

Okay, It seems to go well.
Installed the world, placed you in St. Claire, I've let it run for 1 simhour, then saved and exit. This produced a scripterror correction log with a lot of unused data.

Now restarting it again, see if I can load up that saved.

Things didn't start going crazy for about a sim week or so. I had a few correction logs and stuck sims, but nothing as extensive as it's getting now. I'm reloading it after cleaning memories.

Ohhh, I thought you had the issue on loading up a new game .... :/ Well I was about to TA everyone and upload this save where only 2 hours has past on mediafire. It's almost unpopulated besides you of course :-), but it got cleaned by errortrap.

Atleast this file is clean and saved for whenever I decide to play it. Okay going further on inspecting, will dump my household in and turn on rapid immigration to populate the world. It's going to take a tad longer to see what happens after a week.
