Script Errors Uploaded

Post by brappl » March 14th, 2017, 4:56 pm

I just uploaded a few script errors. ET is generating errors on sims that were auto assigned to tend registers and I can't figure out what is missing. Register also generated an error on another lot register having a sim that was auto assigned.

It is probably not likely but could any of these errors possibly point to the problem I am having with my Sims not being able to read skill books?

Thank you :)

You have a couple (possibly more not being reported on here) off the map homeless sims, one with a Role assignments as you said, whose Dream Manager and Motives are broken. One of them is showing as having no household at all.

Are Jason Bolin and Angelique Bowens due or overdue to age up by any chance?

If it's not that and these are the only two causing such trouble, and if I didn't know much else about them or care to, I would probably TA them and hope their replacements fare better. If this is more widespread across many more of your homeless sims who are supposed to be carrying roles, maybe Chain or someone else can better shed some light on where else these error conditions might be coming from.

Thank you igazor. I TA'd those two earlier today so do not have any age up info and finally ended up TA'ing all Service Sims. I'm wondering if this all happened because I have several little business lots placed in town that have the Savvier Seller Register but no rugs yet as I'm not playing the shops atm. I have my sims working towards buying the shops and then running them. I did remove the Registers and no errors were thrown. Added a few registers back in and no further script errors so far. I'm wondering what I might have broke as I've got some unusual things happening in this world.

Well, I spoke too soon. Would you mind taking a look at the two I just uploaded?

The first one looks different from and unrelated to all the others to me. That's SP falling over itself trying to process some sort of career advancement scenario on Morgan Ghebheart, a proper town resident in the Law Enforcement career. Possibly something about their career status or location changed mid-stream on them, but that error is not serious if it doesn't keep happening with any degree of regularity.

The second one is similar to the earlier ones, a Service Sim (maid) this time though, Elisha Hamm, who is actually on the map has broken motives. I'm still not sure where that kind of thing can be coming from. Doesn't seem like a maid would be bothered by cash registers of any kind though as they should be busy with their own assigned duties.

It looks like the error I used to get when I used the Gardner Service turns out that mod was spawning extra sims as in the Maid Pool and they where getting bounced by Register because of the default game pool size for Maids is 2

Thank you igazor and sittingbear:

I'm not sure what happened with Morgan either. I do have a police building and a city hall building on the same lot with a subway so perhaps things just got jammed up. She's going to work and hasn't caused any errors to be thrown.

I've been using the Gardner Service for years and never had a Maid show up until now. Elisha showed up in a formal outfit rather than the career outfit. She harvested but I was not getting the usual messages that the harvested produce was stored in my sims refrigerator and it never was. I can't imagine what is getting in the way after all this time. It's winter now so I'll need to wait a bit to resume gardening. In the meantime I'll load up another game and see if I have the same problems.

Again, thank you both for looking at this for me :)

It's only happens if the sims generated by the Gardner Service mod are still in world at the time you load up I usually had to wait until they went back into hibernation. His other mods that add a service probably do the same generates extra sims to an existing service just need to wait for them to leave the world and go into hibernation.

Oh, I don't use it but maybe the Gardener Service mod classifies the assigned service sims as maids instead of providing its own classification for the gardeners. Seems reasonable and that wouldn't necessarily be visible to the player until they start using MC to list out rosters of service sims by category (which we would probably need to have a really good reason to do) or try to interpret a script error log on one of them. :)

Ah ninja'ed, and I see that I'm probably the slowest one on this thread to have realized that the maids are not really maids. :)
