Uploaded a script error

Post by 310175 » January 8th, 2017, 12:27 pm

I hope I'm doing this in the right place. This has happened quite a bit for me in the last few years usually after a long play session. The affected sim can't be selected, her phone can't be selected and when I click on other portraits in the family, they all stay selected. I have to guess which is actually active and the picture of the sim at the bottom remains the sim that has the issue. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Hi there. There is one thing that leaps out right away. You have SimsMX's Hypochondriac custom trait mod installed, and your active sim has that trait. This mod was made for an earlier patch level, it was 1.55 I believe, and breaks on 1.63 and higher. Unfortunately SimsMX dropped out before the EPs and patches were finished coming out, thus leaving this one incompatible with current levels.

Although this seems the most likely, if it's not that alone then you have a tuning mod from another source affecting sims' motives that is outdated.

I do? Oh my, I haven't looked much at my mods in forever. I knew it wasn't updated but I completely forgot I had it. I'll try playing without it next time I have time to play longer and see if it will solve the issue. Thanks so much! This might be a while but if it's ok to resurrect this thread then, I will report back once I have checked it out. Thanks again!

I think you might want to remove the trait using MC from any sims who have it already in an ongoing game before trying to load it up with the mod absent or else you might end up with some damaged sims (trait undefined). Hope it's not anything more complicated than that though, and you're welcome. :)

That one could be caused by several types of out dated tuning mods related to traits, buffs, occults and motives as well.

Thanks for the warning, igazor, I will try to remove them before I take it out. And thank you for the input Chain_Reaction. I guess it's time to do some housekeeping in my mods folder. I usually am careful about patch level compatibility when I put one in but I have so many, I'm sure something might have slipped by. Thanks for the advice, the site, and all your wonderful work here!

Just wanted to add, I had that trait for my sim and it was hilarious. I loved it, but it caused problems so had to remove it. Now, I give my sims the Neurotic trait in its place and have written out the list of symptoms from that hypochondriac trait and the causes and still play sims who are hypochondriacs (without the mod)

Now it occurs to me, is there a way to find all the sims with the offending hypochondriac trait in one go? Or do I have to painstakingly go and select every individual sim in my world to find the ones with the trait? I've got most of the NRAAS mods (except for a few minor ones that I don't think would be helpful here (Home opener, cupcake, Dreamer, Dresser, Mover, Saver, Selector, Shoeless, Sleepfreedom).

Try this: MC>Sim>Advanced>Traits>Change>Trait>Choose trait>select all sims from the list>Select sim/s>Select new trait.

From City Hall or a computer>NRaas>Master Controller>Sim>Advanced>Traits>Change>Trait>Select the Trait and Accept>A list will pop up with all the sims having the trait.
