Is there a mod or any build cheat that would allow you to change the fresh water designator to salt water for the Twinbrook map? Because according to SimGuruGraham, you can only build docks on salt water not fresh water. Or at least according to Carl's guide here:
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum ... ic=16602.0
which is completely illogical seeing how you can build docks/houseboats in Riverview of all places. Guess the water was designated saline by devs and so is brackish v. freshwater lake at Twinbrooks?
This is a real bummer. SV, LP, even ITF allows you to build docks and go boating. But not swampy and marshy Twinbrooks >,< Wonder if the same goes for Hidden Springs as well? Is there a list of IP friendly Store worlds somewhere?

It's the water plane in Twinbrook that prevents it the inland lake and rivers are too far above sea level and the swampy areas are not deep enough. There is a way to change that but it requires expert use of CAW and few other programs. The Twinbrook was also the first, only and last time EA used the Pond Tool to make an inland lake but locked the Pond Tool up due to internal problems the tool had.
Don't know of any list for houseboat friendly worlds.
Aurora Skies is another world that is houseboat unfriendly but that I think is due to how the coastline is.

thanks so much for the follow up. I gleaned as much about the water level height from that Carl's guide link. I was just hoping some resourceful CAW/modder in the community had thought to correct this lack of oversight by EA. A CAW tweak similar to the CAW/cosmetic tweak that EllaCharmed did to fix many tech issues in EA worlds. Anyhow I'd assumed all EA worlds would be IP marine craft compatible, just like they did with the Season EP.
It's just so illogical that Riverview--the first world EA ever made--should be IP compatible v Twinbrook a full blown EP that came out later. But thanks for that insight you pointed out with the pond tool. I just wished SimGuruGraham or someone had thought to rectify the sea level height in CAW in a patch before EA quit developing TS3.
Thanks again for the follow up. So much for my angler sim catching a rare 3 eyed fish in that toxic sewer >,< I'll just have to use nraas debug cheat to put a row boat object next to his house I guess. :\

They were experimenting with new tools in twinbrook and yes, apparently it wasn't very successful and limited. That water is graphically drawn in to be higher than ocean level rather than being a global routable objects like the oceans / ponds are. It's a shame they never put effort into resolving those issues.

It would take more than a patch to fix; it would take a total and complete alteration of the world file itself it's not the same as adding something like Seasons.
And such an alteration would've rendered any and all previous Saves unplayable can you imagine some one who has played Twinbrook for 2 or 3 yrs with multiple generations maybe 10, 20 or more all of sudden find after game update to find all that work they put into it is now unusable.
Some things I can understand why they left them alone. They probably figured it was best to leave Twinbrook as it was concerning IP incompatibility than break the games of thousands of people.
Besides don't you need to go to the Dystopian future to catch a Three Eyed Fish?
