Sim Wishes - Music Box !

Post by Smuggler » October 8th, 2019, 9:02 pm

I am assuming there is some correlation between Sim Traits and consequent Sim wishes?....now I usually play a Virtuoso Sim in some combination of traits, but I have never been bugged before by the constant "buy a music box" wish, I finally gave in and bought my single sim the music box (with gnome) from the kids section....and then watched him dance like he'd regressed to childhood...(but it bought his fun up pretty quickly)....I'm wondering what this is all about, I suspect a trick like that Clown painting in Sims 1

Any insights into the music box wish phenomenon gratefully received

Does the Sim have the childish trait? I believe they are obsessed with the music boxes. There's no trick to them that I'm aware of. Just a cute object that looks like it took a lot of work to create by skimming the code.

The true intents of the forces that push us to populate our worlds with music boxes are yet to be revealed. The Tragic Clown trap in TS1 was nothing compared to what was going to happen had the Music Box Revolution been realized...but then TS3's development cycle ended abruptly and we were left with just the cute objects to play with. As an example, rumor has it that children and teens would be able to eat just prepared single serving salads and mac and cheese. From there, society would have had no choice but to quickly spiral downwards.

Thankfully none of that has come to light, but we must remain vigilant and at all times be on the lookout for a resurgence of the Music Box Revolution forces.

Disclaimer: 99.8% of what I just posted was utter nonsense, in case anyone has any lingering doubts. The remaining 0.2% might be something to be concerned about. :P

Always know I'll get a laugh out of you two! Thx for the replies, seriously the Music Box is a weird thing to encounter after playing without it for so long, anyone who hasn't seen the animation before will be dumbfounded especially if they're playing a sim with "bad traits"

Sim Wishes - Music Box !

LOL @ all of this. I made the mistake of placing a music box in my daycare. No one but the adults seemed to care it was there! Even the older kids (who would show up 30 min before daycare ended) would ignore it and go break my unbreakable sinks before vanishing home! So much for teaching them or helping with homework! (apparently parents can only pick up toddlers, kids are on their own? sorry you have to drive that bike all the way across town at night Becky, no kids alone in taxis!)
Apparently, toddlers don't seem to have the capacity to open a flip-top box? Nope! Not in Sim-land. LOL I place that one up there with parents not being able to drive their own cars if they have a toddler in tow. Apparently EA is unaware that car-seats exist, just as they think children can't play piano or learn guitar. Which seems to contradict the hours I spent at piano practice and recitals from the ages of 6 to 12 or the car-seat I toted my nieces and nephews around in for years. ;)
