Videos taken during game.

I can find them easily enough, but I can't watch them. I get an error message when I try to open them. I want to share them, but I can't even see them myself! I've asked this everywhere else, you are my only hope. Experts here seem to much brighter than anywhere else.

Are you entirely sure about that assessment? I would say it's a miracle most of us here, and I am most certainly including myself in this, manage to make it out of the door in the morning without accidentally tying our shoes to each other or hurting ourselves in some other not so brilliant way.

Just for clarification for those who are better able to assist though, are we talking about recording game sessions for viewing outside of the game in a video player, or more about sims in-game using their video cameras to record things to be played back on their own televisions for them to enjoy?

For the former, it might also help if we got the text of the error message. But I believe most players who record the game for later viewing outside of it would be using third party tools like fraps (as an example, there are many others) to help them do so.

Indeed the in game video recorder is absolute trash. I would use fraps. However you're probably missing a CODEC or something. Try installing a well rounded media player like VLC media player and see if they will play with that.
