More than 8 Sims (split topic)

No one said anything about Overrides. That subfolder is rarely used, we only put package files in there when a mod developer specifically instructs us to. NRaas mods do not belong in there, nor do zipped files.

The zip files should not be in your TS3 user game folder at all. They should have been downloaded elsewhere like to your Desktop or wherever you like to download files to, the default is usually the Windows Downloads folder (not the game's!) but it doesn't have to be.

Let's review. There should be three and only three things in Mods -- a Packages folder, an Overrides folder, and the required Resource.cfg file. That is all. The only things that go into the Packages subfolder are actual package files. Each mod or add-on module is one package file.

While we're at it, I notice you are trying to install the MC Progression add-on module. That's fine, but you need the StoryProgression base mod as well for that to work, otherwise it will crash your game on startup every time. You are also trying to install StoryProgression so that's okay, as long as you unzip and place the package files for both of them at the same time. MC Progression without StoryProgression would be a definite no-go.

I'm sorry, but I can't really be more specific than this.

In the last screenshot I saw you had removed all of your mods from Packages except for the two test mods and MC Cheats. And you put the zip files back into Mods. Maybe I've fallen behind here and you have already cleaned that up by now. MC Cheats will not work on its own, it requires the MC base mod in order to function.

I am afraid you are not understanding what a zip file actually is. It is a wrapper, inside of which are the contents we want (package files, one each, in this case). The package files go into Mods\Packages. The zip files get thrown away or at least moved far away, out of the TS3 user game folder entirely. You can store them elsewhere if you like or just delete them.

MC Progression requires both the MC base mod and the SP base mod in order to function and not crash the game. It is meant to be a bridge between the two mods. It is not required for having more than 8 sims in a house, I would suggest just taking that one out of the mix entirely for now since it seems to still be causing confusion.

So the zip clutter that is going to break things has been removed from Mods. Good.

What do you have left in Mods\Packages? Again the last screenshot I saw had MC Cheats all alone, with the two test mods. That isn't going to work. You need to have the MC base mod in there for a start. Its package file, not a zip file that contains it.

And, I hope, you are quitting the game all the way to the desktop (or Origin) before trying to move the contents of Mods and Mods\Packages around. These things need to be in place when the game starts up fresh, they cannot be moved around while the game is running.

You already had it among the others, but it was still zipped the last time I saw it.

This is MasterController. The word "base" doesn't appear anywhere, we just call it that because it is the base MC actual mod.
download/NRaas_MasterController_V134.zip

This is MasterController Cheats. But you already have MC Cheats in your Mods\Packages folder and although unzipped it's lonely in there without the base mod. (and it won't work/will potentially break the game session on startup). Am just including this for reference, you don't need a second copy of it.

Right-click and select Decompress (or Extract All, some language like that should show up).

Or double-click and pull the package file inside of the zip outside of it.

I'm sorry, if these are not clear enough or if they are being blocked on your end then I would have to recommend seeking assistance from someone in person who can demonstrate how to create, download, and get contents out of zip files. Working with zips is a pretty useful skill to have generally, away from the game. If you had to email someone sixteen files, I am sure they would prefer to get one attachment or download with one zip file in it and not sixteen individual files all at once; picture files are usually fine either way, but having to individually download sixteen Word or text files would be very cumbersome for most of us. The other reasons we work with zipped files is that they are smaller and take less time to upload or download as they are compressed, but for single mod files this doesn't really make much difference, and so we can stick the version numbers on the wrapper so as not to confuse the game with different versions of the same mod when updates are released.
