Career Summary?

Post by JohnL83 » August 14th, 2019, 10:01 am

Is there a way to get this to list only those Sims who are residents? I tried a few things and can't seem to get it to just show me residents careers. I never knew this was a thing until recently. I've been filling jobs based on how many Sims I'm showing fill certain types of jobs around town, so I at least have 1 resident sim in every available profession if possible. I often have multiple positions in those careers that allow or make sense to have many sims working, like school, hospital, business..etc. I noticed I had 4 acrobats,I thought I don't really need more than one in town, but when I clicked to see who they were I found none of them are residents and now I'm wondering how many other careers/jobs are showing filled that are not residents?

Can you not filter the report to Type of Sim > Resident at the time that you run it just as with all of the other MC Reports?

 Hmmm....generally I do career summary under demographics. So you don't get asked about type of sim/resident. I will try something out and get back to you. Perhaps I do MC>Career>Type of Sim>Resident? Not sure what I will get with that, but I will have to see. Geez....how thick can a person be anyway? Or is it my cold medicine? Honestly...I'm so foggy right now I've had to re-type this 3 times.

I think you are subconsciously or out of reflex hitting the "X" to dismiss the filter. MC's Demographics reports are the ones I am talking about. They each offer a way to filter the report down to whichever subsets of sims by criteria that you wish to run them on. I wasn't aware that Career Summary runs differently, but even if so one of the other career demographics reports should get you where you wanted to go.

As another example, many of us run the Population demographics report on a regular basis to check on world population. But if we wanted such a report to be restricted to occults only, or sims with a certain zodiac sign who are pregnant, or small dogs (the combinations of filter criteria are almost limitless), we can do that by not hitting "X" and using the filters that should show up first.

 Note to self: Don't ask questions or post online when bogged under with cold medications.

I just went into my game, did the demographics thingy for career and saw I could choose residents. Thus it gave me a breakdown of all jobs my residents have right down to whom is receiving pensions and everything. I had to use the scroll thingy to pull down the list. :-o There was only a small amount that didn't fit my screen so I just didn't see that option and assumed, making an ass of me.

really hate to take cold medicine, makes me feel worse in some ways! Generally I tough things out or try to use the home-remedy herbal options, but this is a beast of a cold and I just couldn't take it anymore and broke down to getting the OTC crap.

---- Hello, hello, hello...is there anybody in there? just nod if you can hear me....is there anybody home?....

The only thing I have to add to this is that sometimes it doesn't matter how much better we feel/function overall while not medicated if we can't actually breathe (or are in pain) at the same time. Just like with my allergy meds, it's all a matter of tradeoffs and it's really difficult to concentrate on important things like our games, or I guess work if need be, either way. :(

I feel like they are a trap, weather it's true or not. I started taking allergy meds about a year ago and now if I miss a dose I can barely breathe. Until a few years ago I never so much as had a sniffle from allergies, then I started getting my ears plugged up of a morning and my Dr advised me it was allergy related and said that not all allergies give us watery eyes and stuffy nose. So per her advise I took Loratadine to help along with a nasal inhailant. It worked and my ears were better. I went off the meds for a while and in a few months I had the problem again. So I took them again (just the pill, not the nasal thing) and now if I miss a dose I have full blown clogged nose and all the other annoying allergy symtoms.

IDK if we just become more vulnerable to allergies, or if the pills create a condition to where we have to take them. Yes, I know it sounds a bit like a conspiracy minded thing, but it is a billion dollar industry after all and it doesn't seem like nearly so many people required constant allergy meds just a few decades ago.

Alrighty then, a bit off topic there. LOL. But I'm in a mood so there it is. Anyway, thanks for the advice on the Sims. It just took a clear head and common sense to see what is in front of my face...even though what's there is blurry too right now. :P
