Savvier Seller Flea Market

Post by ashmo » August 13th, 2019, 10:18 pm

Im wondering if there is a way to reset the rugs used to sell items flea market style? I figured out how to unset the owner of the rug but all the restock post are still on the slots i sold my items from. Is there a way to get rid of them?

Also i saw the instructions on how to add the savvier seller script to new displays, rug, or shelves. But is there a way to add to the list of items that can be sold using the mod? I would like to add canning station overhaul mods ( http://modthesims.info/d/580462/canning ... -2016.html ) items to be sold also? Or will that already work? I havent tried myself yet but someone mentioned that it couldnt be done.

thanks for any help offered

I believe the jams and candles can be sold with the mod already. As far as resetting the rug I don't know any way other than manually deleting the tags. The only canning station items you can't sell are rations I believe.

ashmo,
If you set the options "Restock from Buy Mode" and "Restock Craftable from Buy Mode" on the rug to "False", do the restock signs still appear when an item is sold? I thought Ani designed the mod so they didn't appear but I could be wrong as I haven't used the mod in the Flea Market way for a long time, sorry. Unfortunately, I don't have time today to check in-game so if you try this, please let me know what happens. Thanks! :-)

@Sarah_Sims.
the first time I tried it with both of those options set to false and the restock signs came up with the restock option greyed out. So I went to Ani's old mts post for a solution and she says if you disable "restock craftable from buy mode" then the rug has to be tied to a register and the items in the register inventory. So I tried it in another save leaving the "restock craftable.." option enabled without register connection. When items are sold the restock post comes up with the restock option not greyed out. I didn't select it as I didn't want my sim to pay for fresh new items. I sold all items eventually and that's when I unassigned the owner of the rug as my sim hoping they would disappear. It's been 3 sim days and the restock post are still there. I would try setting the owner of the rug to a new different sim to see if that will make them go away but I'm playing a challenge and only have one playable sim.

Okay ashmo, thanks for letting me know. :-)

In that case then, I don't think the restock signs will ever disappear by themselves. The only way to get rid of them would be to delete them yourself in Buy Mode, or alternatively, turn on testingcheatsenabled and Shift-Click > Object > Delete It in Live Mode. Ideally, they shouldn't appear in the first place if your sim is just selling off some old items they don't want anymore.

As for...

I'll have to try this myself in a test game sometime soon and see if there's a workaround. :-)

Thanks so much for your help Sarah_Sims. Deleting them worked fine, I don't mind having to do it that way. As long as my runaway teen can sell her items I'm happy. Anything to not see another master gardener teen. :)
