How to get NRaas to stop assigning jobs to inactive sims?

Post by Gamesquid17 » June 25th, 2019, 7:51 am

I wish to make all my sims be jobless but as soon as I make them quit their jobs and switch families NRaas would keep assigning them another one when I don't want them to get one. Is there a way to turn that feature off? Thanks in advance.

NRaas > SP > (Sim, Caste, Household, Town) Options > Career: Allow Find Job > False.

It's not clear what you mean by "your sims." If you are playing the entire town in rotations, then use Town Options. If some subset, then one of the others. City Hall or an in-game computer for Town and Caste Options, individual households or sims for Household, individual sims for Sim.

While this will stop SP from assigning jobs to these sims, note that the game itself will sometimes dragoon them into slots to be co-workers for other sims who might have jobs (if any do) or to be Showtime Street Performers. In that case, giving them each the Careers mod Unemployed module placeholder non-career, which has no work hours, pay, or progression associated with it, together with disallowing Find Job should put a stop to that.

For more on Rotational Play and how we can control what SP does with households once they become inactive, we have this page.

Thanks for replying. Could you give me more info on how to prevent them from being co-workers or street performers because I don't want them to become either?

I'm only really able to repeat what I just said (more or less). Maybe I can reorganize it a little.

1 - Ensure first that the sims in question are in a class for which SP will not be allowing them to pick up or be assigned new jobs. So that's Town Options or one of the subsets as said above.

2 - Have or obtain the NRaas Careers mod and its Careers Unemployed add-on module.
Careers

3 - Use MC to give the sims in question the Unemployed placeholder career.
NRaas > MC > (Sim) > Intermediate > Career > Choose Job

It's still not working for me and I made sure that I had set Allow Find Job to false in the household settings. What the problem seems to be from my understanding by reading the messages displayed on the screen is that the town council would keep giving them jobs as firefighters because of their work to the community or something like that as soon I switch households and just seems to ignore that I had set Allow Find Job to false.

This is an example of the dragooning I mentioned, except not exactly for either of the two reasons I stated unless your town's existing firefighters were lonely or needed bosses. Had you or will you now try to give them the Careers mod Unemployed career in addition to the Allow Find Job > False setting?

Again, the SP setting stops the SP mod from assigning these sims jobs or pushing them to change jobs if they already have one such as might happen under various circumstances such as they have a career-related LTW. It cannot alone stop the game itself from pushing these things, especially if these sims have no job to begin with. The game should see the Unemployed career placeholder as an actual career assignment even though it is an otherwise meaningless one.
