Spawner butterfly infestation---thousands of them!!!
Just wondering if there's a problem with the town. It seems odd that you're in a new town and this has started happening. I would go back to your other town and see if it happens there now. What town is this happening in?

It has nothing to do with the world. It's duplication issue I've seen it happen with user made lots that have bookshelves in which every time the game is loaded the books on the lot in the Library will get an extra duplicate book added (some books not all seems to affect only certain books).littlelambsy wrote: ↑May 31st, 2019, 12:05 pmJust wondering if there's a problem with the town. I wouldn't be surprised if the same issue happens with spawners on a lot when it was saved to Library and every time they load up the game the lot in the Library gets it's spawners duplicated.
It seems to only affect user made lots as the pre-made EA lots in the Library don't have that problem.

deedee_828, Clean the lot of all spawners including the ghost spawners and then save a copy of the cleaned lot to the Library and get rid of the original lot. This should stop it unless the lot itself is corrupted.

My 7th generation town jump family is on the lot. And I just got all of their 3 story house furnished and decorated since it was day 1 of their stay here. If I save the cleaned lot to the library and place them back in town what will happen to their family ties and family inventory? Would they lose those? They have career reward items, motive mobiles, and other special items as well, I'd hate to lose all of those things. But I'd hate to lose the family tree even more. Could they purchase another home in Midnight Hollow and live in that one while I fix this lot without losing all of that? I'm grasping at straws here, and appreciate any suggestions.sittingbear wrote: ↑May 31st, 2019, 1:38 pmdeedee_828, Clean the lot of all spawners including the ghost spawners and then save a copy of the cleaned lot to the Library and get rid of the original lot. When I did some tricky things in the past with my favorite household, I used to make a copy of my entire Documets/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 folder and kept that somewhere safe. If things would explode, I could always rename the The Sims 3 folder and place the copy back to go back in time. Of course you do this while the game is NOT running.

Thank you. Luckily a Sim friend of mine suggested doing that not long ago, so I do have a back-up copy of my Sims 3 folder. I'm keeping that as a last resort. And I have multiple saves of my game so I could always go back to a previous save and get rid of the spawners and all before moving my family into that lot. I use Traveler so they could just hang out in the 'rental vacation home for a few days until I got the lot fixed up. Then I could move them in and do the final change hometown steps.

That's what I would try make a note of how much money they have, flush the spawners and move them to another house temporarily.deedee_828 wrote: ↑May 31st, 2019, 2:33 pmCould they purchase another home in Midnight Hollow and live in that one while I fix this lot without losing all of that?
Also before placing the clean copy I would go into build mode after bulldozing the original lot and use the hammer tool to trace over the lot to make sure all the spawners are removed even though you can't see them you'll see a flash if the hammer tool found anything to delete.
This is always a good idea to do this anytime you bulldoze any lot especially public lots and also some residential lots have spawners too there's a couple in Twinbrook that I know have fish spawners and the Landgrab and Goth houses in Sunset Valley do also.

Ìf I remember correctly, the problem with the spawners was that they do not actually go into the lot, but rather get "printed through" into the underlying world lot. So you can place them, but after placement they aren't part of the actual lot any more (and even bulldozing the lot does not help). I don't remember how I did it, unfortunately, but I did manage to get rid of excess spawners, even if it was a rather tedious job.
Indeed if you rotate a lot when placing it, the spawners do get placed every time you rotate and don't rotate with the lot, so keep rotations to a minimum.
I'll probably get the hang of this again but don't hold your breath

I seem to be having a similar issue with squirrels in Sims Uni. Malan Hall Dorms and the Sorority are infested with them in their front yards.

I don't have the game open at the moment, but off the top of my head, if you have MC and MC cheats: click on the lot -> NRaas -> Master Controller -> Object Stats -> Non Inventory. Select the squirrels and/or the spawners and flush (delete) them.95mmaa post_id=66560 time=1559392025 user_id=19578 wrote: I seem to be having a similar issue with squirrels in Sims Uni.
