Blacklisting

Post by Paisley17 » May 18th, 2019, 2:52 pm

I have been working to get rid of the unnecessary clutter in my game so it's easier to find what I'm looking for. I have already used Easy Casp Editor as well as removing them individually. I thought everything was finally all sorted until I went to the hair category and found a couple that sneaked their way in.

I have used Blacklisting in the past but I'm wondering if that is the same as actually removing the item as far as loading times are concerned. Is it worth the effort to actually remove the item completely?

Another question I have and hoping someone might know is ... If you have two hair files that are by the same creator but retextured by different individuals can you still have a conflict where the hair is now blurry or muddy looking? Swore I looked at each individual hair file when deciding to keep them and now I have some that look horrible.

If the item is a problem or you just don't want it anymore and it is CC it's best to remove it. Any files the game doesn't have to keep track of will help however small unless you remove a ton of them.

They shouldn't conflict pending you have the right files in overrides.

Thanks! I love the blacklisting feature, but plan on using it conservatively for the items I just cannot figure out where the file is located to get rid of. However, I also sometimes like to take the lazy route and want to just play my game and might just *poof* them away.

Wait, wait, wait .... is this another you're doing it wrong moment? Am I supposed to be putting the hair files in the override file? I have always placed every hair file in my package file. I also defrag all my files so they ALL go in there, every hair file. The only override file I can think of that I might have seen are the retextures for the EA hair styles. Is that what you meant?

If you have anything that is retextured, the retextures should go in overrides to ensure they work as intended.

I have the original creator's file and a retexture file for several cc hairs would that require the retexture to go into the overrides or is this for just EA hair retextures?
I'm pretty sure I placed the retextures for EA in my packages file. Probably why I really didn't notice any change to the hair texture.

For both.
