Curfews and age groups

Higher priorities are the ones that take precedence when caste options overlap on the same sims. The way to tell what impact these things are having would be to check the Sim Options for the children found wandering around.

Thanks, I'll check the sim options next time I see them wandering around. Also, I'll try highering the priority.

Curfews and age groups

I just played one of my worlds for a couple of sim days and, although I have a Children Caste which includes Sim Type Resident, Unselectable, Non Active and Human with a curfew start and stop time, push at night false and a higher priority, the 3 kids were all trotting around town going to Arcades, beaches etc at 2 am

I checked the SP Sim options on one of the kids and Enforce Curfew was set to True but no curfew hours were set. The Children caste is set to Automatic True. So for some reason the caste is not including the non active, resident kids. I don't know how to set the Sim Options for ALL kids in town.

You are certain these kids are residents and not homeless (newspaper carriers)? Can you check using MC (MC Progression) to see if they are actually members of the intended custom automatic caste?

Yes, they are residents. I only have 3 kids in this world at the moment and when I focused on the kids they were in houses. Then when my sim went to bed and things sped up I checked around town to see what was going on and the kids were all over the map and not in their houses.

Then we need to see if the sims in question are actually members of your caste or not.

On City Hall or an in-game computer, NRaas > MC > Sim > Basic > Family Tree (or something harmless like that ) > Filter to Progression: Caste > (select your custom made Children caste). Do the ones you expect to see show up as caste members?
(MC Progression add-on module required)

I just checked and there are now 9 kids in my world and, according to MC they are all in the Children Caste.

Okay, so we can rule out improper caste defining. I don't know why those settings are not passing through to the children's individual Sim Options. It may be that curfews are just not going to be effective for you or in this world. But I don't understand that because with strict curfews on the inactives I never see children out and about after 10 pm. For teens it tends to depend on their traits.

Interesting. I've set the Child curfew to start at 8pm (20) and end at 6 am. At 8:30 pm I checked around town to see where the kids were. Most of them were "going home" but there were still a few at the arcade and other places that were doing their own thing and ignoring the curfew. I checked their traits and none had the rebellious trait. They are residents and are in the Children caste.

So if you don't see kids out after curfew in your game, what are your settings and do you have a Children caste or do you use another caste option?
