Old mod versions

Post by Mica1111 » April 22nd, 2019, 11:53 am

Heyy guys. Where can I find old mod versions? I need mods compatible with 1.50/1.49 patch since my computer doesn't support 1.67/69 patch. I had it installed before (using the old site) but I can't find it here anywhere.
is there a link or something? Thank you. :)

I'm afraid the older versions are no longer available from here.

I can understand issues with Patch 1.69, that's the somewhat ridiculous Origin tie-in. But may I ask why you are unable to patch up to 1.67 using EA's Superpatcher? That shouldn't really shift the resources required to run the game above that of 1.50 by any great amount and 1.67 is still considered a current patch level.

Does the patch level really affect system requirements? Cause I've never heard of patch for other games do that even those that have a lot of expansions a newer patch has never done that adding the expansion does. Just curious.

To be fair, I've never tested this. But it's pretty commonly accepted that a base game (only) totally unpatched will use fewer resources than a base game patched all the way to 1.67. The totally unpatched one will also have plenty of unfixed bugs and won't be able to accept performance fixing mods as we know them today, so perhaps it kind of evens out at some point anyway.

The patches have added plenty of goofy things in for the game to do along the way. Not the latest ones that the OP would be requiring, I mean further back such as the dates/calls and instant potential for attraction reactions that came with 1.42 I think it was, for example. It seems reasonable that some of these may cause the game to work at least a little harder.

Ah yeah I had completely forgotten that Memories, additional ghost death types and being able to swim in the ocean (among others) was added to the Base Game by a patch that would affect it a little.

If you really need it badly, write me a private message. I have old versions of mods for almost any version, but I'm not sure I can provide a link to this archive here. Ah yes, remember that hardly anyone can help you if there is any problem associated with the previous version of the mod. In each new version, the developer fixes something. However, in my game everything is relatively well...

Sara_Darkees, I am newly registered so it doesn't allow me to send any private messages. Do you have a contact or something?
I tried with 1.67 version before and my game crashed and error 16 when saving showed up and error while loading family. I don't know if it's my computer running out of RAM or something.

Error 16 can occur on earlier versions of the game, in addition, make sure that by running the game you have all the mods that match the current version. I suppose that about the lack of RAM or something like that users or the admin will tell you if you tell the characteristics of your computer. Maybe it's really better to find the reason why your game on version 1.67 refuses to work correctly. And I didn't know that there are hidden categories of users who are allowed or not allowed to write private messages...

Okay, I understand. But I thought there was nothing wrong with someone kindly keeping an old archive with all the mods that were released before Twallan left. Why not post this collection a rarity here? This user is certainly not the first and not the last one to ask about previous versions. And I wasn't the one who host old mods "elsewhere"... I only received them and now I keep them in my personal archive.
