Error 16 usually indicates a corrupt save file or set of files, or that the hard drive on which the game is running is damaged or is out of enough free space to work with properly, again leading to save corruption. It shouldn't have anything to do with RAM or other system resources. Or even patches, unless the patch job itself was faulty. The whole point of the Superpatcher is to avoid/fix poorly done patching that the Launcher or other sources provides. It can be run more than once on the same game install, if the game is from a legit disc based source and is thus receptive to such patching.

Don't know if this is/was relevant in your situation, but it was always a best practice to remove the TS3 user game folder in Documents before patching, with the intent of moving it together with one's content and game saves that it contains back into place after verifying that the patched game works correctly. This doesn't get mentioned as much anymore because so many of us are on Origin and Steam digital installs, so we're a bit out of practice there.

May I ask please what kind of install this is? We know it can't be Origin (on Windows) or Steam as those take care of patching in their own ways, so is the original media retail store discs or from some other source (which one)?

And how large are the drives running the game and Windows, with how much free space? If this is the Mac version of the game, that changes things a bit and we would need to have a different conversation but the Superpatcher's Mac version is just as good as the Windows one.

But I thought there was nothing wrong with someone kindly keeping an old archive with all the mods that were released before Twallan left.
There isn't, for your personal use.

Why not post this collection a rarity here?
Because they do not belong hosted on other sites. Twallan did not appreciate them being offered elsewhere and I don't either. The official stance is users should patch to use these mods. Older versions were available previously due to the game being in active development. This is no longer the case and I see no legitimate reason someone cannot patch. If there's technical reasons I suggest reviewing you meet the minimum specs for the game in the first place because the additional code running without installing a new expansion is very minor.

Don't worry, your mods are not on other sites, and if there is, they will certainly link to the source for download. Archives with old versions to get almost impossible, freely available they are not, I checked. And I assumed this archive might placed here, it would be really legal and strange users with their quirks would be happy... But it seems like this page is purely informational now :(

Chain_Reaction, So the update that you posted completely ruined my game, now I how to reinstall everything. Why can't you just post old mod versions? I'm literally begging you right now. I just need MasterController for 100 sliders, nothing else. I used to have version 1.50 and it worked fine no glitches or game crashes. I understand that this is a new page and everything but there are some of us who can't buy new computer for new Sims 3 updates.

Chain did not himself post an update of any kind on this thread. If you are referring to the EA Superpatcher, I was the one who suggested and linked to that. No one should need to buy a new computer to install an EA patch, as has already been covered. What exactly did you run or install to ruin your game program files, thus triggering the need for a total reinstall? Mods alone on a valid, legitimate disc install cannot do that as they only operate within the TS3 user game folder in Documents, they don't touch the program files. Even Core Mods (and MasterController is not a Core Mod) cannot do this.

You have answered none of the questions I posted in my last entry here about the source of your game install or hard drive space. That is the direction in which this discussion needs to go if support is to be provided. I'm sorry, but the older mod versions are not available nor supported here.

I will add as an aside that if increasing the max number of sliders is the entire goal, then you might consider CmarNYC's XCAS mod from MTS as an alternative. This is a Core Mod and the internal build numbers of the game (patch level) must match the mod version, but she keeps the older deprecated versions available on an external site and linked to from the MTS page, although again with no support offered for them should there be conflicts with something else. The third typical alternative for max slider increases is AwesomeMod, but that one is a Core Mod as well and also only available from its developer for Patches 1.67/69; the older versions if you can even find them anywhere are internally timebombed and coded to not run after their expiration dates.
