I think you may have meant something else entirely.

Nope, I think you got it. I thought as much and I realize not everything is acted out, but I never see a sim autonomously fix anything so I was wondering. I was talking about in the career aspect of SP as well as I've allowed sims in Retuner to fix things autonomously. I didn't know for sure if sims will ever fix anything autonomously? I found this odd because I have handy sims and sims with a 10 handy skill, ( I prefer sims just fix things themselves, it's quicker, and my neat sims will just keep mopping the endless puddles otherwise...LOL) they just walk through the room annoyed by the broken thing but never try to fix it on their own.

Also, I do click the pictures with the stories sometimes and have caught sims still doing that thing (especially since I put the stories timing back to normal) and I had just realized I'd never seen one fixing anything, but certainly training and the other stuff, even riding.

Allowing things to be autonomous doesn't make sims want to do stuff if they don't see the benefit or the motive relief. Maybe it should if they had a related wish to fulfill? I don't think sims are programmed to "understand" that repairing an object or calling a Service Sim to have it repaired will actually improve their lives if not now then maybe later in the day or tomorrow when they need to use it again (or at least stop them from being annoyed by broken and clogged up objects) in the same way that they "understand" cuddling and feeding a baby might stop it from crying and that watching television or woohooing might fill their fun meters. Planning ahead and understanding the impact of their own actions are not really sims' or I should say the AI's strong suit, just in my opinion.

Perhaps what really needs to happen in addition is that object repair needs to advertise a heavy amount of fun relief (or some other metric). But that sounds awfully artificial and am still not sure it would work, this is just theoretical. If EA programmed things that way, we'd probably have gangs of fun-deprived thugs roaming the streets, breaking into houses to unclog everyone's toilets and upgrade their stereos for them. :)

Thanks. I get that of course. It's funny though we do have to remind ourselves that this is all just a matter of ones and zeros and no real logic behind their actions at all. I imagine that would be some Star Trek Holodeck kind of AI and that's a likely a few decades away. HAHA

Heck, they do not always even realize they just need to get to the bathroom or eat before it's about to kill them or pee themselves. LOL. Or hey, maybe sleep instead of just having a cup of coffee or waiting until you pass out and of course the most annoying of all, stop complaining that someone else cleared that dish and just wash your own!

Wait a minute. Are you guys saying that a show with invisible performers is a glitch or something like that? I would sometimes have this happen in a few saves. I always just assumed it was the game pushing a show event bc the lots existed but there weren't actually any eligible performers in town. You can still watch it so I thought it was incorporated for players that want SHT activities in other places but didn't want to go through the hassle of creating the Sims too.

I will just remove the venue for now and try a different one or just do without it, I'm not sure yet. I do have some sims who are performers though, so I'd like them to have jobs in their field.
did you try removing and re-adding the stage, or something, with BuyDebug on? I am really trying to fix many game problems by myself, and the first thing I try is deleting and re-adding an object, or changing the lot type to another and to the actual type I want again. Now that I'm reading Overwatch, I'm going to start modding to fix errors. My first one'll be for my fridges :D

There's a special Proprietor item from BuyDebug I can't remember now, I tried to search, but the guide disappeared, that comes with some venues; but it's not present in all of them, it's kinda weird, but maybe you could try deleting it, I think its only purpose should be calling the proprietor, but it comes anyway even if this item is not in the lot? It's like a floor mark that's not the one which is used to place tables or sits for the public, it's the one that's yellow, I think, and has 'Proprietor something' in the description.

The Proprietor's Marker is only for the Showtime Venues and all EA made Showtime Venues have them. The only time a Showtime Venue won't have one is if the venue was player made and they mistakenly think they get placed automatically which they don't or they simply forgot to place it.

Really? I have no had an issue with putting a stage in another lot manually. The proprietor shows up a day or so later automatically.

I never said they won't show up at the lot without the Proprietor's marker as it's the the presence of the stage that brings them to the lot. But without the Proprietor's marker they won't know where to stand and that causes routing errors if you don't have one placed on the lot so they know where to stand and watch the stage.
