Hi Gang,

Been a couple or few weeks I think, I've been busy painting the inside of my house to "freshen it up" so I can hopefully get it on the market to sell it soon.

Anyway, I love all the mods and I use them a lot, but my granddaughter (age 11) likes to play SIMS 3 when she comes to visit and I would really like to not expose her to the "Adult Version" I have. Can I safely just remove the mods folder and hide it on my desktop so it's not actually in the game and then just drop it back where it belongs after she goes back home?

And if it can be done will it mess up "My" current adult version family? or would it be better for me to just leave mine sit and just start a new town and family until after my granddaughter goes back home?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

You have several options, none of which will affect your saved games at all.

One is to pull out your mods folder or at least the mods and content you do not wish her to see/have in play. As long as your saved games are not loaded, played, and saved, they will not be affected. You could pull those out as well to be sure and put them back later. If any of your adult content is in the form of sims3packs, those would have to be uninstalled by way of the Launcher, so that could be more difficult.

Another is to pull out your entire TS3 user game folder from Documents or rename it, thus forcing the game to spawn a new one on its next launch. The new game folder will have no store or custom content, mods, etc. at all. If you want the more G rated NRaas mods and content to in play for her, then you would have to set up the Framework and copy those back in. The prior game folder can later be put back in place as if nothing happened.

A third way is to create a Windows login for her so she has her own user Documents folder anyway. That might be overkill if her visits are not frequent or very long.

Thanks Igazor, I'm not sure how much playing she is going to be doing, they have a full schedule and lots of plans for Spring Break. I think it might just be sufficient to just remove the mods folders. She knows how to use Carl's Sims 3 Guide and the testing cheats.

Have a wonderful day.

If you use CCManager you can create different profiles (don't think that's the exact term but I'm on my tablet now) for yourself and your granddaughter to start the game from. On the other hand if she looks at all through the cc on it, you're not in any different spot than the issue you're starting with. Maybe bury the more adult stuff in subfolders with boring names. The upside to this approach is that she can still have some cc stuff to use in game
