Run in and Stare?

Post by littlelambsy » March 3rd, 2019, 5:15 pm

Yes TreyNutz, it is annoying, especially when I want my sims to get romantic and get to know each other really well in hopes of a relationship developing. I'll line up the romantic actions and then they constantly get interrupted by other sims wanting their attention. Can't get a good romance going on community lots with the irresistible trait. I had a sim, my controllable sim who I was trying to get something going with another sim, but she kept getting pushed aside by other sims wanting to talk to this Irresistible sim. I spent most of the night using MC > basic > go home on most of the sims at the club.

Sounds to me like the trait needs a counterpart. How about Resistible? Plenty of people in real life have that trait, unfortunately. Too bad custom traits are so impossibly difficult to make in TS3.

Run in and Stare?

< JohnL83 runs into cyberspace and stares at Littlelambsy for a few seconds, points and says sul-sul and turns to leave...

"Ahhh gabba zeee! Huh?" Damn I can't get back to my room because there's a small toy blocking the doorway! Stomps feet, complains, stomps again a few more times and is reset back to his PC safe at home and is staring out the window at the freakin bitter cold temperatures and says to himself...."This is March, enough already!" >

Hope you got the issue dealt with littlelambsy, I too got very annoyed with that action in my games. For me it was everyone in the family and even across the street running over and pointing and chastising the mom who'd done nothing wrong other than kick the butt of some evil dude at the park who'd slapped her teen son. (sorry game, but some things are justified) She got stuck with that kind of thing for days before I finally got the mod that fixed it for me. Hope whatever is wrong gets adjusted. :)

Igazor, I agree I wish we could make traits or reprogram the ones we have.

LOL JohnL83. I haven't been able to test the Reset Everything yet. My sim is in the middle of an opportunity that has 3 parts. Once she's finished that I'll reset everything and see what happens. I just don't want to goof up the opportunity. I have Shimrods Awareness Anims Disabled Mod but it doesn't seem to help this issue. My sim will soon be completing her masters degree, once that is done, I'll have her get married and move out. Then I won't have to watch this behaviour anymore.

That's because the interaction their doing is an idle animation, Shimrods mod only handles awareness animations.

Ok, thanks. Still haven't reset everything yet. Still working on this opportunity. As soon as that's complete, I'll try the RE

Give that a try and see if it helps. It's got to be a stuck Reaction Broadcaster I use the Irresistible trait all the time and have never seen that happen, but I did have that happen when I gave my sim the Eye Candy LTR.

So far my sim has completed the first part of the opportunity, but now its the weekend! so I have to wait until she goes back to school in order to complete the next 2 parts. Then everything will be reset. If that doesn't work I'll summon a meteor, not for her, but for all those running to stare LOL. I've played the irresistible trait before but never had this reaction. Even at community lots, strangers run and stare. Some act as if she's been cheating, others cheer her, others just stand and stare. Sims come from all over just to stare at her. I even changed all her traits. Will get into the game later.

Btw, what's a Reaction Broadcaster?

I think that Reset Everything, including active household, has fixed the problem. I've played for 2 sim days now and nobody has run to stare at Viviana. Its so "normal" LOL Thanks for all the help and suggestions :)

These are scripting objects applied to Sims that broadcast outward in a varying radius that Sims around them should react to something they are doing or something they have in a specific way. A good example is when Sims are playing instruments. Sims obviously don't have real ears. They have invisible objects on them that poll for Sims that walk near them and the broadcaster draws them in to "listen". They depend on the scripting that applied them to stop them and if that never happens things like what you experienced happen.
