The ID of the character

Thank heaven, at the moment there are no problems, but I really need to find the option to display data about the sim on the screen or write this information to the logfile. Is it possible to do this with nraas-mods?

You'll need DebugEnabler and you'll need a pen and paper as you'll need to write it down.
Click on the Sim Nraas>DegbugEnabler>Options:Sim>Who Am I?
You'll get a popup on the right at the top of that popup you'll see something like
Name: Violet Slymer
SimDescriptionId: 12826533541069215120

Thank you, now I have to try to find this option in my game. I'm afraid it will look very different. But there is another problem. Is there a way to find out the ID without clicking on the sim? Some characters are homeless or non-residents, and I can't point the camera at them :(

No there isn't. If it's doppelgangers you're worried about showing up as long as you have OverWatch it'll take care of the duplicates as it can tell the difference between the original and a duplicate copy.

Does this happen immediately or should I call a specific option?

You mean OverWatch? It'll do it automatically sometimes immediately and sometimes within 2 game days.

Okay, I'll take note that this mod will be very useful in case of an error. But if those copies aren't deleted in two days, does that mean they're not exact doppelganger and then I can delete them, using MC?

I would advise to have OverWatch installed as it helps with a lot of things and has a lot of bugfixes to help the game run better.
But yes it could mean they are not doppelgangers but I would give it around 3 or 4 days and then delete them with MC just to be safe.

But you can also check the SimID's to make sure they are just look-a-likes as look-a-likes will have a different SimID meaning it's a different sim and not a doppelganger.
Look-a-likes are safe to keep around although they can be confusing when you have 2 sims that look exactly alike. I remember I had 2 sims immigrate into town once that looked identical when I checked they had different ID's so I kept them and just considered them long lost twins.

I have Overwatch, which is a basic necessity. Yes, I wanted to check the ID of some of the characters, because under some conditions there will be a copy of them. One copy will be in the town, the second-will be considered a non-resident.

Lol, I wouldn't have thought to play this ridiculous situation in such a funny way.

I have an interesting pair like that. The look-alike is practically a replica (looks but not traits) of a sim who stands to inherit the legacy of the main central household in my one long-running game. Except he's a Role Sim mixologist. I'm guessing he spawned long ago while I was still setting up and adjusting SP's Replace Service Sims with Immigrants and its related options and although not a Service Sim, the option to Move Role Sims into the Service Household must have caused him to be picked up from household bin sims' genetics before I locked that all down. Or it happened to be using a random sim in town for such genetics and "my" sim was one randomly chosen.

It's kind of funny and quirky, and he seems like a nice guy to me, so I kept him in my game and stationed him as an assigned mixologist at a custom made wedding chapel in town so my sims don't get to see or interact with him very often. It might have been funnier if the look-alike had ended up being Mean Spirited, Grumpy, and Evil, the exact opposite of "my" sim. :)
