Career Outfit Problem

Post by TreyNutz » December 9th, 2018, 1:27 pm

I have a sim in the Lifeguard career (first time).  On his first day I decided to customize his career outfit and thought I'd give him a second career one and leave the default ouftit alone.  When I took him into Stylist and added the second outfit index and customize it, MC>Stylist took a very long time to close, but I didn't really think much about it.  Thereafter, taking him into Stylist for anything was really slow.  I finally figured out that under MC>Basic>Remove Outfit he had 48 entries labled;  Ui/Caption/Object Picker: Aux Career #, where # is a number (1-48).  These entries don't show up in MC>Basic>Outfit.  I removed them and he seemed ok for awhile.

On his second day at work he was in his default career outfit and the custom one I created was gone.  He'd been traveling to WA worlds, so who knows what happened.  Oh, I also reset the town the night before.  I took him into MC>Stylist again and got the same slow exit.  Now he has 63 Ui/Caption/Object Picker: Aux Career entries.  The thumbnails look like the second career outfit I gave him, but since they are so small I can't be 100% sure.

Has anyone seen this before?  I know know if it's a game bug, an MC>Stylist issue, maybe the CC I'm using in the outfit?  I'll have to check whether the CC is tagged for the career category.  I'm using the latest release of MC (v134).

edit:  I think it has something to do with the Lifeguard career.  I didn't realize he'd change into another outfit every time he went into the water to resuce a sim.  That's the outfit that's showing up in the Ui/Caption/Object Picker: Aux Career thumbnails.  I guess I just won't try adding another outfit to the Career catagory.  Maybe that's the problem.

Career Outfit Problem

I don't recall ever getting multiple copies of the outfit like that, but I did find that customized outfts don't work for Lifeguards. The game just keeps overriding the custom outfits back to the default. Like you, I think that's most likely because of the second outfit used for rescues.

Thanks for the tip.  I'll leave his career outfit alone.  I already messed up once customizing it and ended up with those sunblock stripes full-face makeup locked on every outfit.   I should just leave well enough alone.  I did give him a new outdoors outfit with screaming lifeguard colors since it's Spring and he's perpetually cold surveying the beach on his hoverboard all day long.  The outfit seems to stick after using MC>Basic>Outfit.  At least until he rescues someone.

Career Outfit Problem

Update: The game seems stuck on creating his 'rescue' outfit which shows up under NRaas>MC>Basic>Remove Outfit as Ui/Caption/Object Picker: Aux Career. At one point I had over 240 of them. I've tried having him quit the career for a few weeks, tried removing mods and CC using the 50% method and got inconsistent results, and even tried evicting the household to the clipboard, copying the house to the bin, bulldozing the house, replacing both the house and the household. Nothing has helped. I did try a test sim in IP in a new TS3 folder but he didn't get the issue during the first day of the Lifeguard career and I don't know when my sim was first affected by this issue. I noticed it after he had traveled to China. Anyways, no solution. I'm going to use TCE and spawn lifeguard jobs at beaches every day until he saves 35 sims and unlocks the last hidden island, and then I'll have him quit the career. Hopefully the game will then clean up all the excess outfits. I'll change his LTW to something else too.
