Lifespans...

Post by JohnL83 » October 15th, 2018, 10:18 am

Is there a way to set lifespans individually per game? I hate that if you change lifespans in one game it's set for every game. I'd like to play a few shorter lifespan games and don't want to have to keep altering the lifespans for every game I play. Especially since you have to actually do that within the game itself.
What I don't get is that on the main screen you can max out lifespans in optons, but it doesn't actually "max" them out, it just gives you a high level and if you want longer lifespans in certain age groups that has to be done in a game, but whatever you set that game for seems to stay for any game you play after.

Thought as much, thanks Sittingbear
BTW do you know what Core.Plumbbob is? When I run and Object Stats on my lot or the town (to get rid of some things I don't want like creepy Imaginary Friends) I notice this listed on my individual lot and in town, but it always shows a value of 000. Not sure what it is... other than there is the studio in Bridgeport with the PlumbBob name.

There is a way to accomplish this, although it can be a bit awkward to manage. You will need a separate Options.ini file for each game or set of games that you play for which you want different age span settings. You can then swap in the Options file intended for the game you want to play into the TS3 user game folder in Documents before starting up each time. Seems overly prone to user failure to me, but some players get good results by doing it this way provided they remember to check which Options file is in place before loading up every time.

The Core.Plumbob object is the plumbob that shows over the sim who is active at the moment. You do not want to delete that, bad things will happen.  :(
