Terrain bleeding

<p>I don&#39;t usually edit my posts. I type them out and then hit preveiw. Thats when I notice all the code. If I&#39;m adding a link, I click on the link button. I&#39;ve tried removing the code in the source area but that doesn&#39;t work. So some posts are normal and then others are not (the ones where I add a link). Then again, hitting preview on this post shows that code has come out to play!</p>

What are you using for a browser? This might be random or it could be browser related. Firefox and Waterfox (a variant of the same) are not doing this on me.

<p>I&#39;m using Firefox. Waterfox??? never heard of it, is it any good?.&nbsp; I stopped using chrome because I kept getting annoying messages telling me my browser didn&#39;t close properly and I couldn&#39;t get rid of it.</p>

I've switched to Chrome to see if that makes a difference. I have no idea why this happens sometime and not others. If this doesn't show the code, then I still won't know if its just a fluke and an off chance or whether Chrome is solving the problem.

Waterfox is a variation of Firefox that at the time froze the feature set to that of FF 56 so that those of us who use older browser extensions can keep happily using them. It's periodically updated to provide for more recent security fixes just like the regular Firefox is, which is now on v62. I find it to be remarkably stable and its developer is a genius, but in reality I end up using both interchangeably on different machines because I got a bit unorganized there while trying to make up my mind between the two.

I hate Chrome but that might just be me.

Terrain bleeding

Post by littlelambsy » October 15th, 2018, 7:13 pm

I just discovered something . I opened a new Riverview, the original, and deleted some of the buildings. No terrain bleeding. However, when I removed the lot and place a different size lot in the same place, the terrain bled. So, to avoid the bleed I will have to leave the lots where they are and not change the size - if I want to avoid the ugly bleed.

Another discovery. I originally made this post using Firefox but the preview showed code. I deleted that and opened Chrome and pasted this post. Preview shows no code.

Yes, the two base game worlds are very peculiar about altering the lots, I forgot to mention that. Not anything can be done about that unfortunately. My sunset valley save that is nearing 10 years old has the bleeding all over because after 10 years I got bored of the same layout. I try to ignore it.

I'm not able to reproduce the html output in Firefox. The only thing that triggers that is the page editor loading like it was in PM's. Does your editor have the green save button? That's one way to tell it's loading the wrong one. If it is wrong, what is the link in your browser window showing?

Not that I can see. No green save button. Here's a screen shot of the page editor

Is that firefox or chrome? Looks like you're posting fine now. When it occurs, look to see if you have the save button. It'll be to the right of the source button.
