Big error, sims disappeared =(

Post by Cororon » February 17th, 2016, 11:56 am

I switched household and no sims where there, and their "avatar portraits" were gone too. Not even the "frames" in the portrait panel. And the house couldn't be clicked on. I tried to click on the town hall to do a Total Reset, but the bouilding was unclickable too. So I switched back to the household I started in, and same thing there. I then quit without saving, deleted the cache and restarted the game. Did a total reset, that took like 10 minutes. Tried to switch household, but the same thing happened again.

I uploaded a Script Error I got. Maybe it can tell you something?

I've had this problem before and had to go back to an older save. I can do it again, but it would be interesting to know what the problem is.

When I played yesterday my sims came back from an adventure in China. And I used SaveCleaner to get rid of SNAP files. (I know that it takes a time for the game to make new portraits, but I waited for them to be created before I switched households. And, as I said, when I switched household even the FRAMES for the portraits were gone, so it's not the usual waiting for the new ones)

The ScriptError says "Interactions.InteractionInstance+InteractionPriorityChanged (Void RemoveLowerPriorityInteractions()" and other things I've never seen before. "Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.InteractionQueue) Recursion Reference: Sims3.Gameplay.ActorSystems.SimTemperature+FreezeSolid"

The priority thing... I changed my computer's power settings to "High Performance" yesterday and disabled CPU parking. I wonder if that can cause this problem? Nah...?

No changing your computer's power profile is not going to cause it I switch mine back and forth all the time it's something that's going on in the game
As for the error not sure what causes that

@namaradus, thanks, that's good to know.

This is what it looks like when I switch household. Notice that it looks like a sim is selected, but that's the name of one of the sims in the household I switched FROM. Clicking on the tabs does nothing, and clicking on the Family Tree gives me a Script Error (System.NullReferenceException).

I am not sure what caused your particular error but coming home to a "messed up" home world is not uncommon.
I see you did a reset with MC but the suggested method that usually corrects home world problems when returning from vacation is to use Debug Enabler to Fix Homeworld:
CityHall / Computer> Nraas> DebugEnabler> Options: CityHall / Computer> Sim> Fix Homeworld
It might be too late at this point but it might be worth a try.

While I've never had the error you have happening I've heard of it
If you got a sript error log upload it and you'll porbably have to wait for someone with more knowledge on this to chime in

I took a look at your script error Cororon but am unable to pick off a probable cause. Some of the errors are harmeless but not sure about some of them further down. One of the experts should be along with some solid answers for you.

@brappl, I'll try Fix Homeworld. I think can click on the City Hall/computer.

First of all it's a Correction Log / Dereferencing, which indicates a routinely Clean Up Service by the mod ErrorTrap.
The Dereferencing usually happens when you have Mods with custom codes or Store Content after Dec 2013 installed, which doesn't has any connection to the game core. When Sims are done using interactions of said stuff, the unknown code will be wiped and logged under Dereferencing.
Although the "Ancillary" and "Recursion" doesn't really say much to me what kind of mod is connected too it. Though these type of errors should be harmless, unless ........(read below):

I am prompt to say that it is a bad transition from China to your Homeworld, if you have a copy from when you Sims were still in China, I would suggest reverting to it and travel back, play a sims day, see if everything runs alright, then save. Make a back up copy and use Save Cleaner and see if the game runs okay after you loaded it.

@J4Ks Oh, I see. Thanks. Yes, I have a save from when they were in China, so I'll try that. =)

Atm I'm loading the bad save to try "Fix Homeworld", but I doubt that will work. After that I'll delete the cache and try the China save.
