@Tuckwit - Hey, our first guess and that sounds like a pretty good one. I was thinking more along the lines of a new carnival midway type game. :)

There has to be a way!
Not only for objects, but also we need new music in that damn game!
(Just where ARE the sound files of radio stations, anyway?)

@JustMe Most of them are situated in the DeltaPackages.
If you want to have access to the songs or know more about where exactly you can find them, read this post on How to Decode Sims 3 Audio from mts. The OP of the post I linked explains it very well. I managed to extract a couple of songs like that to see if I could manage to get my hands on Summer Nights.
Not sure how you could proceed if you'd want to replace them though, but that's where you'll find them.

This answers nothing but a sound file rarely heard is if for example a gardener sim goes through the next level after having achieved level 10 the levels for self employed are presumably infinite I have never tested that

You can add music to the custom radio station as long as it matches the picky MP3 format the game accepts. 128 kbps. You can also get the songs out of the game pretty easily as Mellye noted. As far as I know no one has figured out how to add custom sounds to the game though. SimAd sent me some tools that I haven't had time to play with but I have played with a method discussed on MTS and although I got the sound in the game, it crashes shortly after playing it. Same issue noted in the thread. It's obviously encoded in some way that the game expects but it'll take someone good at interpreting hex to figure it out. That's not me :)

Remember how in Sims 2 we could put music into selected stations and ecen easily make new ones?
That was a clever feature they completely ruined in Sims 3.

The last point... Wow, damn... So, the game crashes because it is expecting something that is not there?

Yes, it's unfortunate EA failed to bring back that feature. I'm sure it wouldn't have been much effort but not a priority I suppose.

And yes. All files have a specific format so the programs written to interpret them can read them back. If the format doesn't match, it has no idea what you want. Sorta like trying to play an image file with iTunes. If it didn't have checks in it to stop you, it'd crash.

Well, I know about formats, but how do you manage to have it play the sound before crashing in that case? (If I even understood correctly, lol)
