Rotational Play and Daycare

Post by littlelambsy » September 23rd, 2018, 2:00 pm

I'm sure this has been discussed before and I've probably asked it before but can't find a reference to it anywhere. Sorry. I am attempting rotating a few families but I really, really want one family to run a daycare. I don't care if its used for residents or homeless. I'm just wondering what happens when I leave that family and move to another? Will the daycare still run? Will I have to cancel daycare before rotating away and then start it again when I return to that household?

i have a Daycare and i keep rotating families. The Daycare runs fine when I switch. As a matter of fact I often end up playing there again, because my toddlers get teleported there when the parents go to work.
Here is my Daycare: https://kittythesnowcat.tumblr.com/search/daycare As you can see on some of these posts I was not playing the Lazol family, but I was playing another family the Paines and the twins went to the Daycare while their parents were at work. I have heard that some people have had problems with inactives not properly taking care of the kids though. I have Arsils sleeping mats, which does make the whole thing a lot easier.

Thanks KTSC, that's wonderful that it does work. I also have those sleeping mats, they're great. I love your blog and will read through it later today. It looks interesting. I've never played by rotating families before so this is new to me. I could never figure out how to write a story AND rotate to different families. So this is a new experience. Thanks :)

Well rotating through families and pushing Mods to their limits is what I do basically (I don't write stories I just report on my gameplay), let me know if you have any more questions^^

littlelambsy - Do you need to use a mod that keeps the daycare running? I would like to have a daycare so NA sims don't just keep abandoning their kids to vanish into cyber-land.
I had a sim who had a daycare and at first they ran everything fine, but once she got up to level 9 and 10 no one brought kids over, and also the daycare didn't run when I would play another family. Or if it did run there was not kids there every time. How and what do you use to keep this going?

Inactive run day care requires the GoHere mod. The options arethen under NRaas > GoHere > Caregivers.

Thanks igazor, do I have to set GoHere to Use Active Daycare for this to work?
@JohnL83... I don't have any specific mod for this, and I'm just trying to set it up and make it work for rotating family. So not sure what will happen yet when I rotate. But according to KTSC, it should work fine. If it works for her, it should work for me. Looking forward to trying it.
