Why are you out in the middle of the Ocean!

Post by littlelambsy » July 21st, 2016, 5:06 pm

My sims all got up Saturday morning, had breakfast and then I directed on to cook, one to clean house and the other to do laundry. The one started cleaning house, but the one doing laundry took a boat out into the middle of the ocean- miles away from land, picked up a bag of laundry, in her swimsuit, then took a boat back to the house. Like, what are you doing??? Then, the one cooking in the house, I also found her under the water by the one collecting laundry- she is in two places. How come I always get the weird problems with my game LOL.. Here's a screenshot.

Are you on a house boat?
Although I've seen sims walk on water before lol

No, my sims are in a big farmhouse and they don't drop their laundry in the middle of the ocean. :)

HA LL ... you get those weird problems so you can post them in here and we all learn something new.
I don't think that problem is all that unusual though. I've seen that multiple times in some games. Not sure what causes it. Perhaps a mod looping?

I don't think it's mod doing that more like the extra routing added for boats I've seen happen with just the vanilla game when IP is installed

My sims do the strangest things lol. Good to know it not that unusual. I followed her and after picking up the laundry, she took a water taxi to shore, then took a cab home, went upstairs and did the laundry.

I just thought, maybe it's because it's a custom world that I added dive spots to. The world is "Island Build" an empty version of Legacy Island. I named it Bluffington.

I had something like that happen in Sunset Valley, Twinbrook, Sunlite Tides, Barnacle Bay, Roaring Heights, Moonlight Falls, and pretty much all the rest of the except Riverview and Lunar Lakes

And where did you find Island Build LL?

There is a player on MTS who reports that his Butler keeps doing strange things like this, and often after picking up all the loads of laundry in the house. One time he found him hiding "inside" (?) of the refrigerator. I so helpfully pointed out that their Butler clearly wants to have some private time away from the game camera with their sim's dirty laundry but they kept managing to find them and spoil the moment.

The fridge glitch was probably a one-off in their case, but this does sound like broken routing in general to me. Whether it's the lot or the world at fault is unclear, but maybe a MC Rest Everything might help?
