Thanks Consort1, that actually sounds interesting. So with kids at different ages, some would look taller than others. I could use Cmar's sliders for the YA and Adults and yours for the younger ones. :)

You can just mix it all together. The default Grow mod uses Blooms slider, not Cmars. You can randomize Cmars slider to your liking and let Grow work on Bloom's slider. A boy and a girl of the same age would then have a different height but still dynamically grow.

If you want Grow to operate Cmar's slider you would have to set the kAlwaysAssumeZeroHeight value to false in Grow's XML tuning. That's the setup I'm using for a while, works fine, too.

I'm probably not going to mess with the Cmar's height slider because I like seeing the animations line up. OTOH, I've always been afraid of the Grow mod because it seems like such a big change that it would cause lag. What have folks observed?

If it's anything like his Age mod, which I do have in play and works its magic on Adults approaching the end of that stage through Elders just beginning theirs (it's brilliant), there is some brief noticeable drag in heavily populated worlds upon startup and each sim night at midnight as the affected sims get their adjustments. Nothing I've ever become distressed about, but of course if you have a world with 200 kiddies close to aging up you might get different results.

I've been using Cmar's height slider for a while and that's how I got two children living alone.I just used the height slider on two teens to make them very short and pretend they're children.I also use it on a toddler just aged into a child to make them shorter or an older child to make them taller.

I keep swearing I'm not going to screw around with my game anymore now that it's been stable for what? Two years? And yet....

I use Cmar's height slider and I just keep the differences small and I don't see animation issues. The small differences are enough to give the feel of variation in my world. Of course, being short and stocky in real life, I have a tendency to make a preponderance of short and stocky sims.
