Is it possible to request custom careers in this site?

Post by vbc5jknwer » April 16th, 2016, 4:20 am

I have searched many websites and I never found the custom careers that I wanted.

So, I tried looking tutorials for it.

I read many sites tutorials including ones in this site.

I was trying the tutorials and in certain point, I failed to follow, cause I never learned how to program or anything (don't know anything about xml and etc.) that helps me creating custom careers using certain tools that are available.

These many tries, I have done it like more then few years and finally gave up on doing it.

So, I was wondering if it is possible to request custom careers in this site.

Is it possible to request custom careers in this site?

Thanks for reply.

Unfortunately, I have been to the links of the list and they don't have any careers that I was looking for.

That's why I was wondering if I can do request for custom career here.

Depending on the skill and experience of the modder it could take alot of time to make a custom career to get a workable version for testing
But the main problem is finding someone that knows how and is willing unfortunately I don't know of anyone

Yeah, I guess.
I know it isn't easy to create custom career, since I have tried doing it myself.

Hi vbc5jknwer.. you're best bet would be to go into one of the sites that create careers and ask if they take requests. There is a mod for generic (sort of "create your own" career) at MTS. I'll see if I can find the link.

Did not realize I had it so handy. This is not actually a career but might provide an alternative. Custom Generic Role

Oh that one.

I have seen it before, before you showed the link today.

Unfortunately, I thought that wasn't also what I was looking for.

The career that I was creating using various guides were these:
- Book Publishing Career (One of Careers of Book Publishing Company)
- Internet Clothing Sale Small Business Company Career

I've always wanted to create a custom career myself. Not because there are so many lacking in the offerings available from others, but more just to get a feel for all of the steps that are involved. But lack of time to devote to it keeps getting in the way.

Isn't the suggested procedure to grab an already existing custom career and reverse engineer/change it to what one wants or am I oversimplifying the process? Haven't looked at those tutorials in a while.

@igazor:

"the suggested procedure to grab an already existing custom career and reverse engineer/change it to what one wants"

The problem with above is that, my skill lacking.

I never majored on programming or never learned anything about xml, or any technology that is related for using to create custom career.

That's why I'm having trouble while I follow various tutorials.
