Is anyone using Zurbus Ultimate career mod?

Post by littlelambsy » October 27th, 2016, 5:25 pm

I have all the work places ready for Zerbus mod so I can see them at work instead of using the RH. But, I'm still setting up my world and haven't actually sent sims to work yet. Before I do, I just want to know how well the mod works and if it's going to make me crazy with routing issues or other bizarre things. If so, I'll remove the mod and just use the RH.

Hi littlelambsy! It does have some issues and personally, I don't enable it for every single career in town. If I were you, I would just enable it for the career my currently active sim is in and see how things go. Once you can see it's working okay for them and you're ready to switch households, try enabling it for the next active sim. That way you can fix any routing issues if/when they occur. The only time I've had them is when trying to lock sims out of certain rooms with Go Here but that mod has been much improved recently. :-)

Thanks Sarah, that advice is good. I remember starting to play with Vector and unleashed ALL diseases at the same time and I did go crazy with that. It has taken me a few years now (from the trauma LOL) to start playing with it again.

Howdy littlelambsy .. my, my you are venturing into different waters these days, lol. I have been using Zurbus' mod but not extensively and can not honestly say I've had too many problems with it. Most of which were caused by me. It is definitely a good mod to have. Sara's advice to give it a try using your active sim to see if it's working okay before going to the next household. Do you have J4Ks tutorial?
Keep us posted on how you are doing with your rotational game. I'm sure it's going to make for some great reading lol.

Thanks brappl. I'm still setting up my families so haven't started playing yet. I'm looking forward to this "new" style of play. I've set their age span to the same as Sarah (2400 days) so I won't go so crazy with them doing their own thing. I'm sure you'll hear all about how I'm doing when you read a long line of desperate posts, crying for help LOL

Just thought of something else - the tuning files. You may have seen them mentioned in J4Ks tutorial but they're easy to miss and make a BIG difference! I recommend using Cinderellimouse's Ultimate Careers Tuning Mod as it stops sims losing their career performance when they're not using the designated objects. You can read all about why that might be helpful over at Cinderellimouse's blog (in the link above). She has a very interesting way of playing, similar to Ani and myself.

Also, do you ever plan to enable Zerbu's mod on your school? If so, I have a list of tips & tricks to ensure the children don't end up with failing grades. Let me know if/when you need it. :-)

Thanks Sarah, I think I have her tuning files but I'll check. I'll definitely read her blog. I did enable it on schools. Do you have your tips and tricks on your website? I should be ready to actually play soon, just remodeling Agnes crumplebottom's new mansion. Thanks again Sarah :)

Hello littlelambsy, I am using Zerbus Mod too. Lately I have had some issues with it, though they are not direct issues, so they might not even come from Zerbus Mod. I think for some careers the Mod works great, for example Science because the push to the objects makes sense.
I had it set for my baker and made the baker career use the cooking scheme, and my Sims was washing hands all day because the sink is a pushed objects. So some make sense, some don't . You can change what mold a career uses at the city hall. The cooking one only makes sense if you have another object like anis bistro oven push the Sims to do something useful in my opinion. In case this does not make sense I'll come back later to write more.. I just got up and did not have any coffeine yet

Thanks Kitty, I have ani's bistro oven and have assigned shifts to that, but have also assigned the Culinary Career to the open bistro with Z's mod. It'll be interesting to see what goes on at work with these sims. Well, you're just getting up and I'm just going to bed. :)
