Dresser Download for patch 1.67/69

The focus of this mod is automated alteration of the outfits of all sims in town. The mod has the capability to add accessories, body hair, makeup, and new hair to all sims, increasing the variety of your town's population. Dresser also contains the ability to invalidate CAS parts which you do not want in your town, and will replace them with random choices when a sim rolls them on their outfit.

When does the Check Outfits automatically fire?

If you have "Check Outfits \ Perform on Age-up" enabled, the mod will perform the "Check Outfits" validation under the following conditions:

When a sim changes age-stage.
- For instance: A sim aging from a child to a teenager. Since the sim is provided with a new set of outfits, the mod must validate the parts
When a sim is instantiated
- When homeless sims are re-added to the game world, their outfits are validated
- This is done since many homeless never age-up (such as Service and Role sims)
- New immigrants are included in this process
When a sim becomes visibly pregnant
- When a sim switches into their maternity outfit, those parts must be validated

How do I tell the mod which parts I don't want to be valid for random?

There are three methods to define which parts are validated by this mod :

Use MasterController's Blacklist functionality.
- To do so, you create a blacklist of parts using the CAS interface available in MasterController.
- Then turn on the "Check Outfits \ Use Master Controller Blacklist" option to start using that list.
Use the "InvalidParts" tuning package.
- This tuning package allows you to specify which parts you don't want to allow for "Valid for Random".
Use the "ValidParts" tuning package.
- This tuning package allows you to specify which parts you do want to allow for "Valid for Random".
- All parts not included in this tuning will be considered invalid

How do I stop the messages from this mod?

To stop the messages that appear every time a sim in town has their outfit changed by this mod, do the following:-

Click on City Hall or any Computer > NRaas > Dresser > Check Outfits > Display Notification
Change the default setting of "True" to "False"

How do I stop accessories being automatically assigned?

Click on City Hall or any Computer > NRaas > Dresser > Check Outfits > Accessories > Random Accessories
Change the following percentage values of "75" to "0"
- Female Chance
- Male Chance

After I've used the "Add" interaction to allow a sim to have more than three outfits per category, does the daily outfit rotation feature use the extra outfits?

The short answer is yes.

As an example, let's say you have used the "Add" interaction to give a sim four extra Everyday outfits, in addition to the normal three outfits allowed in that category, so now in total, the sim has seven Everyday outfits. The automatic daily outfit rotation feature of this mod will change the sim into the extra four outfits as well as the normal three, therefore allowing the sim to wear a different outfit every day for a week.

How do I stop this mod from randomly changing all sims' clothing?

To stop the initial checks that Dresser performs when it's first installed, you will need to install a tuning file along with the base mod. The tuning file is called NRaas_Dresser_Tuning_V30_Disabled_Initial_Check.zip and it can be found here: Dresser Tunings.

Where can I find erbkaiser's Invalid Parts Tuning file?

An InvalidParts tuning file, containing most of the improperly categorized EA Store Content, has been created by erbkaiser and is available here: Erbkaiser Invalid Parts

This format is used by the InvalidParts and ValidParts tuning packages for Dresser, as well as the InvalidParts tuning package used by MasterController.

Dresser's file handles the random selection of outfits for inactives, and when a sim ages up.
While MasterController's file determines the parts that are visible in CAS.

Invalid Parts is an XML format for identifying CAS Parts. The format allows for specifically denoting a part, or providing a large swath of parts by certain criteria.

For Instance, adding this set to the file will tell the mod to replace all the flippers being used in Everyday and Athletic outfits with a new pair of shoes.

Note on BodyType

If you include this field the mod will ignore any and fields you have set

Note on Species

You can only enter one species type in this field.

Note on WorldTypes

Valid values are any of the following:
- Base
- Downtown
- Vacation
- Future

Or for instance, remove all shoes for sleepwear by doing the following: (Available for Version 11 and greater)

Add this line to invalidate a part for only maternity outfits.

Note: It has been reported that the tuning file may stop loading properly if you have more than 35,000 lines of text in your XML file.

If you achieve that size of tuning, you may want to consider merging similar entries together.
For instance, if the only difference between two entries is the 'Categories' field, then entering a single entry with multiple categories specified may be more appropriate.
